Motor Vehicle Collisions

Central York Fire Services responds to approximately 300 motor vehicle collisions (MVC's) each year. Approximately 15 of these require some degree of extrication of the occupants.

CYFS dispatches two apparatus to reported MVC's. All CYFS vehicles have some extrication tools; however E411 has the heavy hydraulic equipment and other rescue tools. Consequently, whenever possible it is one of the two vehicles dispatched to MVC's.
