Fire Prevention Division
The Fire Prevention Division is responsible for public fire safety education, inspection activities, fire investigations, code enforcement, and plans review.
The Fire Prevention division provides fire safety education through information sessions and presentations to industry, businesses, organizations and community groups.
Fire Prevention Programs include:
Risk Watch - A children's safety education program, now part of the public school curriculum.
The Arson Prevention Program for Children (TAPP-C) - This program offers support for families with children who play with fire. All calls are strictly confidential.
Home Fire Safety Awareness - A program designed to educate residents about the importance of fire safety in the home.
Stay Fire Smart Campaign - A program designed to educate residents on installation and maintenance requirements for smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors.
